Are you struggling in life? Many of us are. This post focuses on the challenge of moving from where you are to where you want to be.

You might be grappling with physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual symptoms. No matter what you do, the same old feelings and situations keep holding you back. It feels like there's an impenetrable brick wall between your current state and your goals.

The same patterns seem to repeat endlessly, regardless of your efforts. This can apply to virtually any aspect of life.

When you're struggling, the best thing to do is get quiet and listen. Your struggle carries a message and wants to be heard. It's your job to decipher this message, understand its meaning, and take action based on your insights.

I emphasize this in all my work: Listen for life's messages. Pay attention to what surfaces. The answers are within you.

You might think, "Great, I know the answer is inside me somewhere. My body is trying to communicate, but I still can't figure it out. How do I access this information?"

That's exactly what we'll dig deeper into today.

How We Struggle and Respond: The Garden of Life’s Challenges

overgrown garden by doorway of house

Picture struggling in life as tending a garden full of weeds. You see the leaves poking through the soil, but that's just the beginning. Beneath the surface, an intricate root system spreads, much like the hidden aspects of your challenges.

Now, what happens when you ignore these weeds or pretend they're not there? They multiply, and suddenly your once-beautiful garden is overrun. This is what most of us do when life gets tough. We don't want to dig deeper. We're scared of what we might unearth and the emotions we'll have to face. So, we do what humans do best: we distract, ignore, or resist.

Your defenses kick in like clockwork, and you dive into them usually without thinking. Maybe you binge-watch a series, hit the gym extra hard, or dive headfirst into work. These aren't necessarily bad things, but when used to numb out, they're just Band-Aids on a deeper wound.

The more you avoid, the more your vibrational frequency drops. You're creating blockages in your body, setting yourself up for a world of hurt down the road. It's like letting those weeds grow unchecked - eventually, they'll take over your whole garden.

The thing is, it doesn't have to be that way. As you tackle the weeds, your garden starts to flourish. Just like in life - underneath all that struggle isn't just pain and sadness. There's love and joy too. You can't cherry-pick the good stuff without being willing to face the tough parts too.

This is where a lot of us get stuck. Part of you knows that life doesn't have to be this way, but you feel trapped and unsure of HOW to do things differently, how to get through the struggle without resisting it…

We begin with awareness. You don't have to tackle everything at once. Take it step by step, and as you open up, you'll find your capacity to handle life's challenges grows too.

Understanding Struggle as a Messenger

Let's start by reframing how you view struggle in life. Instead of resisting it, get curious. What's it trying to tell you?

Struggle often signals change, revealing hidden causes and providing motivation to act. It's a wake-up call, your life saying, "Hey, pay attention!" It's offering wisdom if you're willing to listen.

Your body and life circumstances are wise, holding answers to your struggles. The problem, whatever it may be, is inside you. This is where symptoms originate, so this is where the solution lies, not externally. You have the power to listen and decode these messages.

Think of your body and life circumstances as messengers. They're alerting you to buried stories and environmental influences. What starts as an energetic imbalance eventually manifests physically.

Your body and soul are working together to get your attention. That ache or pain isn't just physical - it's something deeper bubbling up, begging you to ask, "What's really going on here?"

When exploring this, consider your experience as a whole being. Don't just focus on specific symptoms at a physical level, but also at energetic and spiritual levels. And while outside supports like diet, exercise, and supplements can support this, ultimately, it's about the whole you.

The important part to understand is that your brain and body won't stop sending hormonal and neurological signals until you respond to the message. Sure, you may find a way to quiet a symptom - through distractions or a pill from the doctor - but it will keep coming back in some form, until you listen and acknowledge it’s been heard.

The good news is you CAN heal yourself and move past your struggles. True strength emerges from our struggles. Embrace the challenge. Your life is communicating and waiting for you to understand the message and move forward.

Are you ready to listen?

Decoding Life’s Messages When Struggling in Life

Fireflys at night depicting the magic all around us

Your life communicates through its own unique language. These signals are messages indicating when something needs attention. By acknowledging and listening closely, you can uncover answers about your current struggle and intentions, ultimately healing and releasing the things you've been wanting to "go away."

The Ways Life Speaks to Us

Life uses various methods to get your attention, and these messages manifest in different forms. Each person's experience is unique, and as you tune in, you'll learn to recognize what certain sensations or experiences mean for your body. It's sort of like a parent learning their newborn's language.

Here are some ways you might receive these messages:

  1. Images and events: Random pictures in your mind, life circumstances, situations, or things that cross your path (e.g., people, TV, computer) may carry important messages.
  2. Thoughts: Persistent ideas or recurring thoughts that nag at you might hold significant meaning.
  3. Emotions: All emotions - from anger, sadness, and anxiety to positive feelings - are your body's way of communicating with you.
  4. Sensations: Various physical experiences - including tingles, aches, pains, and energy waves - carry messages that shouldn't be ignored.
  5. Physical symptoms: Bodily manifestations like headaches, muscle tension, fatigue, and various diseases or disorders are your body's method of sending messages. (For a deeper understanding of the underlying messages in physical symptoms, Louis Hay's book "Heal Your Body" serves as an excellent reference.)

The root cause of your life struggles is often an energetic blockage in your body. The signals above point to why the struggle formed and the meaning behind the message being sent. Potential underlying factors include:

  • Unprocessed emotions: Blocking energy centers, preventing life events from flowing through you.
  • Lifestyle choices: Poor habits can have consequences.
  • Physical injury: Blockages should resolve with healing, but persistent issues may indicate deeper reasons.
  • Toxins: Environmental factors can create or maintain blockages.

But it goes deeper. Your struggles might also be tied to things like:

  • Unresolved issues or stories: From this life or possibly past lives (if you're into that).
  • Akashic records: Universal knowledge that might be trying to break through.
  • Energetic cords and contracts: Invisible ties potentially holding you back.
  • and more…

Remember, healing isn't just about taking a pill or getting lost in your distractions.  It's about tuning in, addressing your subconscious, making better choices, and possibly changing your environment. Consider your whole being in the process.

Next time you feel off, don't dismiss it. Your life is trying to communicate something important. So listen carefully, as the answer to your struggles is hidden within these messages.

Tuning In When You’re Struggling in Life

Just as the experience of your life’s signals are different for everyone, the meaning behind those messages is also unique to you. Learning to interpret these messages is crucial for personal growth and well-being. While decoding these signals is primarily your responsibility, I can offer guidance based on my own experiences.

Let's explore some practical ways to tune into your body's wisdom.

Be Open and Face Your Challenges

To start tuning in, adopt the right mindset. Approach this process as you would when listening to another person: be open, present, and focused on understanding rather than offering your own opinions.

Face challenges head-on instead of distracting yourself. Be curious about the meaning behind what emerges. Feel your emotions, express them if necessary, and then let them go – allowing them to move through you. Approach the process with the intention of understanding, not simply eliminating discomfort.

Be kind to yourself throughout this journey. It's okay to momentarily set aside a message if you're overwhelmed or unable to attend to it immediately. Ensure you're in the right space to truly listen when you do address it.

Get Quiet and Stop Identifying

Create a quiet, comfortable space free from distractions. Close your eyes and set an intention to communicate with your body and life. Every time you sit down to listen, you’re giving your body more room to breathe and heal.

It's important to create distance between yourself and the signal or symptom you're experiencing. Avoid identifying with the signal through statements such as "I have anxiety," "I always have these thoughts," "I have xyz diagnosis," or "I'm just an unlucky person." When you make these statements, you're activating the law of attraction, and your brain essentially accepts these things as truth.

Instead, detach from the idea that these thoughts, feelings, or conditions belong to you. This openness allows for new possibilities and creates space for divine intervention and intuition.

Get Curious and Listen

Understanding the message is crucial. If you don't comprehend it, your body will continue to create the same symptoms and blockages. Investigate the origin of the message and decide how to proceed once you've figured it out.

From a place of detachment, approach whatever arises with curiosity. Here are some examples of signals and questions to ask:

  • Images or memories: Why is this appearing now?
  • Situations: What can I learn from this? How can I grow?
  • Feelings: What purpose is this emotion serving?
  • Thoughts: Question their validity and origin.
  • Physical symptoms: What needs to change? What is your body trying to communicate?
  • Recurring patterns: What am I meant to learn? Where did these beliefs originate?

Approach and communicate with these signals as if they were separate entities, working for your highest good. Your body and life are always trying to protect you and convey important messages. Consider asking:

"If everything were working for your highest good, what does this signal think might happen if it doesn't show up?"

Often, these signals may be attempting to bring attention to a deeper pain that needs acknowledgment. Continually ask yourself:

"What might life be trying to tell me?"

To gain clarity on these signals, consider journaling or discussing them with a trusted friend. These practices can help you interpret the messages more effectively and uncover their underlying meanings.

Establish Your Connection with Self

Life's struggles often stem from past hurts, overreactions, and anxieties. These issues are tough to shake, no matter how much you talk about them or try to move past them. The key lies in replacing them with a more transcendent version of yourself.

That part of you—your “true self”—is always there, beneath the noise. It's connected to the universal wisdom that knows that all is well. Strengthening this bond attunes you to your inner truth and provides an anchor during challenging times.

To tune in:

  1. Recognize your distractions and defense mechanisms. What behaviors are blocking your self-connection?
  2. Meditate with intention. Focus on strengthening your bond with your true self.
  3. Notice distractions. Gently redirect your focus to that loving self-connection.
  4. Practice, practice, practice. The more you do this, the quicker you'll center yourself.

Remember, everyone's journey is unique. Be patient as you learn to decode your body and spirit's language. By addressing these messages, you're moving towards balance and taking control of your life.

This self-connection is more than a feel-good exercise; it's your guide and source of security. Your true self has wisdom to share – all you need to do is tune in.

Tips for Everyday Listening When Struggling in Life

Now that we've explored how life speaks to you and ways to tune in, let's discuss how to apply this in your daily life, especially when you're struggling.

Focus and Timing

Learning to listen to life's messages is a process that requires focus and patience. When struggling in life, having a direction is crucial. Trust that messages will come when you need them; there's no need to dig for them.

Drop the Bags and Find Your True Self

Often, life's messages guide you towards releasing things that no longer serve you or block your true nature. This process involves shedding baggage and uncovering wisdom beneath. Take things as they come, discerning what needs deeper exploration and what to let go.

Set Your Intention

When struggling in life, having a focus prevents aimless wandering and reactive behaviors. Setting intentions helps you actively create the life you want. As you work towards specific goals, messages about potential obstacles will become clearer.

So what is it you want? Get clear on your intention and then let your life know about it. Here's how:

  1. Connect with your higher self, centering into that feeling of love and compassion.
  2. Ground yourself in your current situation.
  3. Visualize your intention as already realized. Be in that feeling.
  4. Express gratitude for it.

Maintain this intention throughout your day, refocusing when you drift. Surround yourself with uplifting content that aligns with your soul's voice and intention. This could include podcasts, music, books, or stories of others who have faced and overcome similar struggles. It's akin to tuning the dial to the station, or life, you want to be living.

Spotting the Signs: Synchronicities and Intuition

As you tune in and open yourself to receiving messages, you'll notice more meaningful events entering your experience. We're often too busy or distracted to notice the constant unfolding of life around us, but as you start paying attention, your intuition will strengthen, and synchronicities will appear to guide you.

Look for Synchronicities

Watch for "coincidences" that align with your intention. Once your body registers what you're aiming for, opportunities and experiences will start appearing at just the right time to lead you there. Remember, even seemingly negative events can be disguised synchronicities shaping your journey.

As you acknowledge these occurrences, you'll feel lighter and notice movement in previously stuck areas. You'll begin to trust that life is always supporting you and start to feel less alone.

To recognize the magic that's always happening around you, continuously ask questions like: Why did I encounter this person or information at this moment? How does it relate to my recent thoughts or fit into my journey?

Follow Your Intuition

Trust those gut feelings! Along with synchronicities, they are also direct proof that the universe has your back. Act on those nudges, but also question them. Why this thought now? Why this urge?

When we're struggling in life, we often experience a tension between our higher self assuring us that all is well and our ego insisting there's a problem. The more you tune into and listen to your intuition, the stronger your trust in it becomes. This allows you to lean on that inner wisdom during moments of struggle.

Taking Responsibility: Mindset and Self-Care

Your mindset is crucial when you're struggling in life. Stay positive, but don't ignore reality. Have faith in yourself and the process. Embrace change - it's a powerful teacher.

Take care of yourself, too. Sleep well, eat right. Pay attention to burnout signs and take breaks. Remember, you're responsible for your growth. Don't blame others or external events for your problems.

Be proactive in addressing the lessons your body is teaching you. If you don’t take action on life’s messages, your body will continue to send them. Action is what shows your body and your life that you understand.

Accepting Support: You’re Not Alone

You're always supported, but sometimes reaching out is necessary. Tools like muscle testing, pendulums, or tarot cards can help build confidence in your decisions or confirm answers found when asking questions and following your curiosities.

Remember to seek human support from family, friends, or online communities. Share your stories and offer help to others, fostering communal growth. By listening to others' experiences, you might find the answers you're seeking. All of these actions strengthen your resilience and provide new perspectives.

How Reiki Helps When Struggling in Life

Reiki is a powerful tool to help you realign when struggling in life. This practice automatically boosts your body's vibrational frequency, bringing you closer to your true nature. As a result, lower stuck frequencies begin to loosen and surface, revealing blocks to your authentic self.

The increased vibrational frequency from Reiki enhances your intuition, making it easier to notice subtle messages your body has been trying to communicate. Therefore, it's essential to take time to listen during and after a session.

Reiki balances your body's energy centers, or chakras. Regular sessions can help you identify which centers tend to become imbalanced, offering insights into the root causes of your symptoms and how to prevent their recurrence. For instance, if your throat chakra frequently becomes imbalanced, it might indicate a fear of speaking your truth, warranting deeper exploration.

It's important to note that Reiki isn't about making difficulties disappear or practicing spiritual bypassing. While energy may be released, and temporary relief is possible, addressing underlying issues is crucial for long-term healing. Without understanding, blockages will likely return.

The honest truth is that Reiki is about facing challenges with courage. Experiencing fear and pain is necessary to understand and ultimately overcome them. This process allows you to refocus on what truly matters in your life.

If you're interested in receiving Reiki, consider booking a one-on-one distance session with me. Together, we can work on tuning into life's messages and finding your path forward when struggling in life.

Tune In, Break Through: Your Path Forward

This is just the beginning of your journey. There's a universe of work to help you uncover the layers to your true self. The biggest thing in the beginning is to just become open to the messages. By getting quiet and listening, you'll allow things to unfold naturally.

My personal healing journey has taken me to unexpected places. I've discovered things I never considered before. These revelations exposed hidden patterns and long-buried issues that have been holding me back in numerous ways.

The key to progress lies in increasing awareness. By opening myself to whatever arose, quieting my mind, and listening intently, I allowed messages to speak to me. Cultivating curiosity and seeking understanding, rather than ignoring or pushing away difficult emotions, has been instrumental in my growth.

Through this process, I've learned that anything in life not fully understood tends to re-manifest. This applies to pretty much everything, from digestive problems and anxiety to recurring life patterns and self-imposed limitations.

While it’s a process and it takes time, the release of long-held burdens – sometimes carried for an entire lifetime – is absolutely worth the effort. The freedom and clarity gained are invaluable.

So, if you're struggling in life, remember to tune in, listen closely, and stay curious about what emerges. Embrace the messages that arise; they are your pathway to breaking through and moving forward.

Your journey to a better life awaits. Are you ready to take that first step towards transformation?
